Oops-small problem
Ordered this computer as a gift. Got it quickly from AMAZON with their excellent shipping.
The packaging is nice and the computer comes with a case, set up is straight forward and easy. The computer itself is very solid appearing with its 'aluminized' finish. The display is bright and the keyboard very nice.
The WiFi did not work with my router-we had to stand within 6 feet of the router to get a hook up(Linksys router) and the connection was dropped at 15 feet. Tried different WiFi sources at relatives houses(all Linksys routers tho) and the same result. Called support,downloaded updates, visited forums and no help.-same result
Returned computer thru Amazon-they are excellent by the way-and will order a different netbook-from Amazon. Not sure if it was just that machine or a common problem with these routers.
Asus support was helpful but could not solve the problem-they responded quickly-even over the Christmas Holidays.

I’ve used Dell business-class (Lattitude) notebooks since the 90’s, and bought one of these for my wife as a replacement for her iMac. Since I was going to move over her applications and reload a fresh copy of the O/S anyway, I took the opportunity to see whether or not this was good enough for a multi-O/S development platform.
